Dessert Recipe

Yesterday I basically had no food in the house, that has now been rectified though. I was craving something sweet and wanted to bake at the same time. I didn’t feel like going out to get ingredients so I had what was in the fridge, freezer and pantry to work with…. which meant only one egg. Thank you internet and allrecipes.com for this easy, yummy, sugar cookie recipe that only requires 1 egg!

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking power
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 egg
1tsp vanilla extract

1. Preheat oven to 375. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking power.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla.
3. Gradually blend in dry ingredients.
4. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
5. Bake 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven.
6. Let cool slightly, pour a cup of cold milk, dunk and enjoy! ♥ B

2012 Begins

“It occurs to me, as it sometimes does, that this day is over and will never be lived again, that we are only the sum of days, and when those are spent, we will not come back to this place, to this time, to these people and these colors, and I wonder whether to be sad about this or to be happy, to trust that these hours are meant for some kind of enjoyment, as a kind of blessing. And it feels, tonight, as if there is much to think about, there is much we have been given and much we have left behind. The smell of freedom is as brisk as the air through the windows. And there is a feeling that time itself has been curtained by darkness.”
